This resolved the problem with activation, and it has been stable since then. I ran the MS license removal tool and then reactivated Office 2019. After some troubleshooting, I found that the Office 2016 license (which had been previously deactivated), was still present and conflicting with the new 2019 license.
This repeated several times with the applications becoming very buggy. It went ok at first appearance, however, the applications then lost activation, and many error messages were generated that indicated a restart of Office was required. Outlook 2019 preserved all of my existing email accounts, as well as, their online and offline folders, so the installation was relatively straight-forward and initially went as-expected.Ī minor issue that I had was with activation. Interestingly, it did not keep any of the 2016 versions of the applications they were all replaced with their 2019 counterparts. After receiving various recommendations, I did finally install Office 2019 for Mac without modifying anything associated with the existing Office 2016 for Mac that was already installed.
